Blast from the past

I've no idea what had gotten into me. But I decided to check out ye 'olde blog. Scrolling to the posts I can't help but remember the music I listened to back then, the feelings I felt while I was writing, my state of mind at the time. Granted, some posts are just cringe-worthy and you kinda wish you didn't write it. lol

I guess that was the whole purpose of having a blog. To go back one day and think about what you've done, how you felt, where you were and where you are now, how much have you changed, have you made a difference..?

Big questions, difficult answers. How does one measure these kind of things? The traditional way would be the typical checkbox: married, kids, house, job? Shouldn't the better form of measurement be how you feel instead? Happy, content, grateful, excited, challenged..?

Then again, why do we have the need to "measure" anyway? To compare with someone else? To compare with your former self?

Why am I suddenly being philosophical is beyond me. Especially when I had just spent 3 hours playing dota. lol

Maybe I'll revisit here every now and then. Putting the proverbial pen to paper is nice sometimes.

why the hate?

these days, Facebook is filled - and i mean really FILLED - with pages full of HATE.
whether the hate is aimed towards a specific individual/group/race/religion, u can bet that there's a page on Facebook that can cater for ur every hateful desire

i mean, come on, lets act (or at least try to) like adults here.
if u're unhappy about something, by all means vent
vent ur heart/ass/lungs out
throw a tantrum, if u'd like.
but just do not involve other people.
do not go onto the net and post hateful stuff in forms of videos, comments, edited pictures, facebook pages, and so on.

do u really have to create a page on facebook specifically so that u can gather the troops
get as many supporters as u can
and collectively trash and publicly humiliate that person/group/race/religion
do u feel a sense of satisfaction if u do that???
if u answer "yes", then i guess u are kinda screwed up. but hope's not lost.
everybody can change, though impossible it may seem.

from what i gather, this page was founded with the purpose of ridiculing the kids/teens/people who "hang out" at the entrance of Pavillion but never actually do enter Pavillion to shop and whatnot.
Why, do u ask, do people hang out at the entrance? well i guess its because its the new cool hangout place..kot..entah
anywho, i am not a fan of these kids who hang out there, but do i post hateful stuff on my blog/facebook/myspace(Wahh!tipu je, mane ada lg.XD)?

i have this weird thing where i like to give other ppl nicknames

dont get me wrong, its not meant to insult anybody or anything, its just how i remember names

not everybody has a nickname in my head though
i dont know why, but i tend to give nicknames for my lecturers/teachers
but i've NEVER called these nicknames to their faces.
cause that'd be suicide and i'm not the suicidal type.

at school, for instance, my friends and i had a nickname for all our teachers
our biology teacher, Puan Salmah Yamin, we call her "Kak Sally"
our english teacher, Puan Syafini, we call her "Kak Fini"
History teacher, Puan Zamrah - "Kak Z"

lecturers at miat are not immune to my nicknames
my lecturer in electrical systems, Mr. Faizal Shariff, i call him "Tahir". short for faizal tahir, of course
physics lecturer, Mohd Razak Mohd Noor, i call him "Razak Baginda" [Read: Altantuya]


now just 30 minutes ago, my friends and i were looking for our physics lecturer to submit our physics lab report. we didn't know where his office was, so we went in one of the lecturers' office.
the office was pretty much empty except for 3 lecturers grouped together in conversation.

Being the brave, bold and courageous one, i stepped in front of my fellow friends and popped a question to the group of lecturers. "Umm sir, do u know where Mr. Razak Baginda's office is?"

Realization kicked in.


the lecturers were already laughing. so were my friends behind me. crap.

well, they say that "if u cant beat them, JOIN THEM"
so i joined in on the laugh

and one of the lecturers answered that Mr. Razak's office is at the Admin building.
and another lecturer added, "tp Razak Baginda still kat UK"

hahahaha. kwangajo nye lecturer. melawan kau. kantoi ko follow blog dia!

and now i'm praying that my physics lecturer, Mr. Razak MOHD NOOR HEARS NOTHING OF THIS! hahahahah

well, i'm not so happy about this coming new year

first, allow me to be stupid and shallow(or more stupider and shallower - if its even possible)

i'm not looking forward to entering the year 2010
because this means that i'm going to be a year older
which means that i'm going to be 20
which means that i'm going to be leaving my teen years behind
which means i'm going to be an adult(ok, not so much)
which means i'm going to have to be responsible for a whole lot of things
which means that i have to keep track of my finances
which means that i have to take a car and house loan
which means that i have anak bini to look after
which means that i have my parents to look after
which means that i cant goof around and act dumb as much
which means that i'm gonna be pretty darn busy forever

dang. i think i've put a lil bit too much thought in this. lol wtf?!

and i know, my bday's in july
and thats 7 months from now
but still, when ppl ask u how old u are
u say how old u are based on that year! not that month or week or watever




so face it..today, i'm TWENTY (20)!!!!!




another reason y i hate new year's is that u have to write 2010 when writing the date
no more 2009
it takes me a whole year to get used to writing "2009"...
but now i have to start remembering to write "2010"...

i guess there are many pros and cons for skipping standard 4

one of the advantages - as i often reminded my father everytime i wanted an increase in allowance
is that when i skipped standard 4, i saved my father a whole year's allowance!!!
fine, not a very noble thing to do.
but dammit, i have needs! (a 10-year old has needs?)
i dont know if it worked
or my father just manipulated me into thinking that it worked, when in actual fact
my allowance was the same as my brother's when he was my age
my dad the con-artist.

another advantage is i get to meet my awesome friends whom i am still very much close with till now
should i have stayed in standard 4 with the others born in 1990, i doubt i'd be as close as i am with them now
sure, i've lost my friends from standard 1 till 3

but no, life isnt all sunshine and rainbows for us PTS students

when we jumped into standard 5, we were pretty much outcasts
divided into 2 classes
aliens among the 1989 peeps
disliked by teachers because we were still stupid and childish and didnt know a thing about science
(science was first introduced in standard 4)
i retreated to my classroom and confided in my classmates
never making contact with any outsiders

one of the many reasons i was such a nerdy nobody at primary school.
lol

then, when i entered secondary school
the problem mentioned earlier evaporated
as we were all juniors
and we all started fresh

nobody knew each other
and if they did
so what, u make new friends

but then, hormones kicked in
which made life a heck lot more complicated

members of the opposite sex who once was labeled as icky and girllyyy and only played with boring dolls
were now causing weird unexplainable chemical reactions within the body

everyone sibuk nak bercouple!!!!

so i had a crush on this 1 gal. hehe

but i was shit scared to confess my interest in her

in no apparent order:

1. dwight schrute (the office)

Despite his inability to act like a normal human being, he somehow is still the top Dunder-Mifflin salesman. Strange enough, and through his irreverent behavior should have gotten him fired a multitude of times, he still has a job and seems to shine brighter after every foible. Not to mention the fact that he once killed Angela's cat and she kept sleeping with him for awhile longer.

2. jack bauer (24)

He's had seven really lousy days, and been nearly dead so many times that we've lost count. Not to mention the fact that he's always wanted by someone, or in proximity of bombs, nuclear explosions and assassination attempts. By this point it is not only a miracle that he is still alive, but also quite impressive that he isn't rotting away in a jail cell somewhere.

3. phil keoghan ( host - the amazing race)

He's got pretty much the best gig ever as host of this globetrotting series. He's not stuck for two months in a sweltering local like Jeff Probst(survivor host); instead, he gets to see various sites and his only difficult task is being able to count as people reach his little mat and then do his patented eyebrow raise. Simple! Not to mention that all he has to do is strip-down to his boxer-briefs to send his fans swooning.

4. lily and marshall ( how i met your mother)

One of the few couples in a good relationship on television. They both have their share of quirks (and annoying friends), but they are truly blessed to have found the person who can deal with all of their idiosyncrasies. It's not often you find someone who you can stand for as long as they've been together, and have that someone still be willing to meet you at the airport with a keg of beer and a marching band.

5. meredith grey (grey's anatomy)

How Meredith has made it this far in her residency being all pouty and petulant without someone at least trying to stab her in the head with a scalpel is a mystery to us. She is one of the most annoying people on TV and yet, she has a sweet house, no rent, has friends who always seem to have booze available and a truly handsome boyfriend. How does this greasy haired whiner who isn't even that pretty keep getting hot guys? It makes no sense at all. She's either got a closet full of four leaf clovers, or she sold her soul to the devil.

6. melissa rycroft (the bachelor & dancing with the stars)

This reality show starlet went from getting dumped on national TV to coming out smelling like a rose on "Dancing With the Stars", all within the span of a week. After her very public breakup with Jason on "The Bachelor", she snagged an available spot (thanks to Nancy O'Dell's sudden injury... coincidence?) and earned some of the highest scores on the "DWtS" premiere. Plus, she doesn't have to date that idiot Jason, which is a true prize. And she's got the added bonus of not being the next forgotten Bachelorette. It's a win-win.

to make a spoon, fork or knife, one important tool is required - the furnace
although every member of the gingerbread house paid equally for the services of the furnace, jack took the liberty of controlling the furnace and elected himself as the sole operator of the furnace
he uses the furnace non-stop, creating spoons only for himself, while limiting the usage of furnace for the other members of the household
any visitors of the gingerbread house wanting to use the furnace is limited to making only a tiny miniscule fork salad or stare as the "great master Jack" makes
while jack creates spoon after spoon and large woks and gigantic "senduks"

naturally, the other gingerbread men are unhappy and frustrated with jack's unfair behaviour
but they kept quiet and let it slide - or try to let it slide - seeing how jack is their friend

but patience does has its limits
